The Monroe County Department of Health has confirmed one case of the measles in Monroe County.
The case is confined to one toddler who had not been vaccinated.
Health department officials say the child had recently traveled outside the United States, where they believe the child was exposed to the disease.
There has been multiple case of measles reported in New York in recent months, including an outbreak in Rockland County where there are more than 100 confirmed cases.
Measles is highly contagious and can be easily contracted by people that have not been vaccinated.
Symptoms include rash, fever and runny nose.
