Convicted felon found with makeshift bomb pleads guilty to having ammunition

GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) -- The convicted felon accused of having a makeshift bomb in his home pleaded guilty to having ammunition. 

Daniel Owens, 27, was arrested at his Greece home in January.

Officers found shotgun ammunition and a pipe bomb with metal nails and screws.

According to court documents, Owens told police he built the bomb because he was getting threats.

Owens was convicted in July of 2018 for illegally possessing a firearm.

He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison at sentencing in October.
