ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) - As the only pediatric day respite center in New York State, Daystar Kids fills a unique need in the lives of families with medically fragile children. The therapies, medical services, social connections and daily routines provided at Daystar are often integral to the growth and development of young children with special healthcare needs.

Like many other local non-profits, it's had to make some tough changes to daily operations and programming as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

Kim Condon is the Executive Director of Daystar Kids, and she connected with Emily Putnam on FaceTime this week to share details about how they're handling the new circumstances, and their plans for safe reintegration when the time comes.
