TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WHEC) -- One city in Western New York just banned trucks from going under one of its bridges.

The decision was made after three tractor-trailers got stuck trying to pass under the young street bridge in Tonawanda.

The mayor has also asked the police to step up patrols in the area, and even started a zero-tolerance policy.

People who live near Young Street tell News10NBC's Buffalo affiliate WGRZ that trucks slamming into the bridge have been a problem for decades.
