Students get scholarships from CrimeStoppers

Three local students have each been awarded $1,000 from the CrimeStoppers First Responders Scholarship.

A $1,000 award was presented to three Monroe Community College students. One who was enrolled in law and criminal justice, one in fire protection technology and the other in emergency medical services.

"We are so proud to be the conduit of these scholarships so thank you for everyone who has supported CrimeStoppers over the years," says Paul Hawkins, chairperson. "Congrats to the recipients and I think you'll find law enforcement is a challenging and rewarding career and I highly recommend it."

This was the first year of the scholarship.
