After News10NBC began investigating Alvis Sprague, police in two counties launched investigations of their own into the local contractor who allegedly pocketed customers' money for months. He's back behind bars.

Shortly after News10NBC began an investigation of Sprague in the fall of 2016, the Ontario County Sheriff's Office launched its own investigation. Sprague was charged with grand larceny in the third degree and was released on a legal technicality.

On Monday, Sprague was arrested in Monroe County on charges of grand larceny in the third degree for an incident last November. He is in Monroe County Jail without bail.

A customer of Sprague's, Susan Sipes, tells News10NBC she paid Sprague almost $17,000 to remodel her condo. Experts said his work was dangerous.

News10NBC learned Sprague has now been arrested 18 times and has nine 9 convictions -- 6 are felonies.
