Governor Andrew Cuomo exercised his right to pardon inmates, but he won't reveal their names.
The New York governor granted pardons to 60 people, including 39 convicts who committed misdemeanors and non-violent crimes as teens.
Retired State Supreme Court Judge Penny Wolfgang is one of people questioning the decision. She told WGRZ, the Buffalo NBC affiliate, that it's dangerous for the public. Wolfgang argued that people have a right to know.
"I don't understand why they would not be released, because they are not youthful offenders," said Wolfgang.
In New Jersey and California, governors release the names of people who are pardoned.
