Governor Cuomo signed a new law Tuesday allowing the sale of beer and hard cider ice cream.
The measure limits the percentage of alcohol in ice cream and frozen desserts to no more than five percent of alcohol by volume.
It prohibits the sale to anyone under the age of 21 and requires a label indicating the product contains alcohol.
Wine ice cream has been safely sold and regulated.
