SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHEC) -- The investigation into the fatal crash involving Jim Boeheim has been closed.
That is according to our affiliate in Syracuse, WSTM.
District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick said Tuesday that Boeheim was not speeding at the time of the accident and that 'distraction or impairment' were not contributing factors for either driver.
According to Syracuse Police, the longtime Syracuse basketball coach struck and killed 51-year-old Jorge Jimenez Wednesday night when he tried to avoid hitting the man's disabled vehicle.
Jimenez was an occupant in a black Dodge Charger with three others when they apparently lost control on a patch of ice and hit a guardrail.
Police said Boeheim has been cooperating throughout the entire investigation. He even used his cell phone light to warn other drivers of the disabled car after the accident, police said.
The funeral for Jimenez is set for Thursday.
