ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — There may be hope for a local high school football star as he fights to back on the field this season.
Section V will decide early next week if East High's Seven McGee can play after the school appealed the decision.
East Superintendent Dr. Shaun Nelms said school officials met with the Section V executive committee Thursday. McGee will not take the field for the team's game Friday.
McGee has been ruled ineligible to play football this season after Section V said he transferred back to East High from a school in California within the last six months.
State high school rules indicate a student must live in New York for six months to be able to play sports.
