SCHOHARIE, N.Y. (WHEC) -- The defense team in the deadly Schoharie limo crash investigation received a trial extension Thursday.
That's according to our sister station in Albany, WNYT.
Last fall, 20 people were killed near Albany when a limousine came barreling down a hill, through a stop sign and the parking lot of a country store and crashed into a ravine.
Attorney Lee Kindlon is defending Nauman Hussain who is the business operator of Prestige Limo of Saratoga Springs. Hussain is accused of failing to properly maintain the limousine and ignoring violations from the state.
Kindlon just gained access to the wreckage on Thursday and because it took so long to see the limo, a new trial date was set for Jan. 6, 2020.
Since the disaster, lawmakers have been talking about sweeping changes to the limo industry.
