On Tuesday night, Rochester police announced that her boyfriend, 17-year-old Jermaine Brown, was arrested in her death. Brown faces manslaughter, criminal contempt and weapons charges.

Police said that Grimes was shot in a home on Delamaine Drive, and brought outside and left in the driveway. A SWAT team entered the home when no one would answer at the home.
Investigators said that Brown recklessly shot Grimes with a pistol. They charged him with criminal contempt because they said at the time of the shooting he was violating an order of protection issued for the victim on May 5.

Brown is scheduled to answer to charges in court on Wednesday morning.
