Deputies are investigating after two bodies were found inside a burned vehicle on King Street in Hamlin Monday morning.
Investigators say they are treating the incident as a double homicide. Due to the nature of the deaths, Chief Deputy Michael Fowler says it will take multiple days to positively identify the victims.
Deputies arrived on scene around 11 a.m. after the property owner saw the burned-out vehicle behind a storage unit on private property near Lake Road. Investigators say the vehicle had likely been driven to the scene late at night.
Chief Deputy Fowler says they have attempted to contact the vehicle's owner, but have not been able to get ahold of him or her.
Deputies believe this is an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
