Missing vulnerable adult alert canceled for Yates County man

The missing vulnerable adult alert for Franklin Herman was canceled just after midnight on Saturday.

The Yates County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a missing man.

Deputies say 71-year-old Franklin Herman, from Jerusalem, has been missing since 9 a.m. Thursday. He was last seen in Cohoes driving a blue 2009 GMC Sierra pickup truck with New York registration 90937JY.

Deputies say Herman suffers from Alzheimer's and diabetes. He left his medication at home.

Herman is bald, 5 feet and 6 inches tall, and weighs around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and a baseball hat.

Herman may have a small black dog named Jake with him.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
