ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- News10NBC is sharing its latest Do the Right Thing award winner: a kindergartner at the Genesee Community Charter School.

Meet Julia McNally.

Earlier this year, the carbon monoxide detector woke up five-year-old Julia.

Her father and younger sister didn't hear it.

Julia went to her dad's room and called to him. When he didn't wake up, she jumped on him.

He was able to get the three of them out of the house and call 911.

Fortunately, for the McNally family, Julia was brave and persistent in waking her father.

The outcome could have been tragic.
