GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC’s latest Do the Right Thing award winner saw another student encouraged vaping, and told a teacher.

Skyler Thompson is a seventh-grader at Greece Arcadia Middle School.

When she was in sixth grade, she saw a student asking other students to vape, and saw something in his hand.

She was concerned for the other students, so she told a teacher.

"He started smoking, he was showing it to his friends like there was a group surrounding him so I was like nervous because people shouldn't do drugs in the school and like it's just bad," Thompson said.

School staff say they identified the student in question, found the vape and addressed the situation.
