ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC’s latest “Do the Right Thing Award” winner is Marlon Scott, a second-grader from Nathaniel Rochester Community School No. 3.

Last March, Marlon called 911 and requested an ambulance for his mother, who was having a medical emergency and wasn’t able to communicate.

Marlon gave helpful information to the dispatcher while talking to his mother and reassuring her help was on the way.

When asked how calling 911 made him feel, Marlon said, “It made me feel sad because she wasn’t feeling too good."

Marlon’s level head during a difficult time meant his mother was able to get help quickly when she couldn’t ask for it herself.
