ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) —News10NBC is celebrating another winner of the “Do the Right Thing” award, meet Geneseo first-grader Ella Kirchoff.
A fire chief nominated her because of her giving spirit.
Ella competes in pageants and knows she can use that platform to raise awareness for causes like world hunger. Ella runs local food drives and donates goods to pantries. Last year she came up with "Operation Feed the Tummies" to help people in Livingston and Monroe Counties.
She hopes to feed 500 people in need this year!
The Do the Right Thing Awards program has been part of the Rochester Police Department since 1995 and News10NBC is a proud sponsor of the program.
Any student enrolled in grades k-12 in any Monroe County school is eligible for nomination.
