Do the Right Thing: Giselly keeps calm during 911 call

Our latest Do the Right Thing Award winner is a sixth grader at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School.

A 911 operator nominated Giselly because of an emergency call involving Giselly's grandmother. She took charge of the situation and translated the operator's instructions to her grandmother and kept her calm. She said she was nervous while trying to translate but added that she has learned a valuable lesson.

"Now it's important to care about one another because that's your family member and you don't want anything bad to happen them," she explained to News10NBC.

Giselly is a role model for her peers and aspires to be an actress.
