ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Great kids are honored through a campaign with local law enforcement called Do the Right Thing.

We're honoring six 8th graders at Bishop Kearney, their names are Alejandro Aguilar, Eugene Carcone, Zachery Morin, Payton Ostrowski, Thomas Triassi, and Dasiah White.

During a snowstorm back in January, a visitor at their school got stuck in the parking lot in a snowbank, so they all went out in the cold weather and helped shovel snow and free the driver.

They didn't even know the visitor they helped, these kids just did the right thing.

The Do the Right Thing Awards program has been part of the Rochester Police Department since 1995 and News10NBC is a proud sponsor of the program.

Any student enrolled in grades k-12 in any Monroe County school is eligible for nomination. The good deed the student is nominated for must have occurred in Monroe County within one year of the nomination. Anyone over 18 years of age can submit a nomination form (this includes family, friends, school staff, coaches, etc.).

Nomination forms can be completed and submitted electronically or you can print the PDF form and email or fax the completed form. Forms are also available at any RPD building and any City school or City library.
