ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Great kids are honored through a campaign with local law enforcement called Do the Right Thing.

Liam Worden, a student at Greece Arcadia, is one of the latest winners from the winter ceremony.

Liam was nominated by the owner of the House of Guitars for his amazing actions during a very scary situation back in September.

One night, Liam was driving to his part-time job at the House of Guitars when he noticed a woman on the sidewalk near Holy Sepulchre
Cemetery on Lake Avenue. Liam thought this woman may need medical help, and without hesitation turned his car around.

He immediately saw that she had a knife in her hand and was bleeding. Liam removed the knife from her hands, all while talking quietly to keep her calm.

He learned the woman was distraught over the loss of her husband. He stayed with her until officers arrived.

News10NBC is a proud sponsor of the Do the Right Thing program.
