Rochester mourns the death of media figure, Kevin Meath

Rochester is mourning the loss of local media icon well known for his work charitable works.

Kevin Meath, the son of former WHEC broadcaster Eddie Meath, died Friday from injuries he sustained in a three car accident in the area of East Henrietta Road and the Route 390 exit.

Meath was a fixture in the radio community. His father Eddie Meath was a legendary broadcaster on both radio and television for WHEC.

One of the organizations Meath was active in was the Rochester Press-Radio Club. According to club's website, Meath, a former president of the group, was a longtime, dedicated club member who carried on the tradition of his father’s charity, the Eddie Meath Penny Fund.

Kevin Meath was the sales manager of WSYL 92.1 FM in Avon.
