ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- A local Dunkin' and Joy in Childhood Foundation presented a $10,000 grant to Foodlink on Thursday.
The grant will help support Foodlink's Summer Meals program.
The Joy in Childhood Foundation is the charitable foundation supported by Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins. It has granted more than $18 million to hundreds of local and national charities across the country.
"Ten thousand dollars is going to help us purchase food for that program, it's going to help us purchase much-needed kitchen supplies for our community kitchen," Foodlink's Chief Marketing Officer Martha Bush said. "It's also going to help us co-sponsor the Summer Meals Festival at Frontier Field to sort of kick off the Summer Meals program so that more families can know about it and take advantage of it during the summer."
The Summer Meals program helps feed kids who would otherwise go hungry because they're not at school where they would normally get a meal.
