PULTENEY, N.Y. (WHEC) — The driver accused of causing a deadly crash that claimed the lives of four people is now facing multiple charges after turning himself in.

Dustin Drake, 30, was arraigned on charges of felony DWI and aggravated vehicular homicide. He has previously been charged with DWI within the last 10 years.

Back on Oct. 12, Drake crashed a car on County Route 76 near Rugby Road in the Town of Pulteney, Steuben County, around 1 a.m. His car went off the road and hit a tree.

Four passengers — Adam Bellamy, Nikki Wise, Coy Miner, and Korbie Higgins — died in the crash. Drake was the only survivor.

In addition to driving drunk, investigators said excessive speed and a lack of seat belts were contributing factors in the deadly crash.

Drake was released on his own recognizance.
