East Rochester superintendent resigns

EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- Months after he was put on paid administrative leave, the East Rochester superintendent resigned. 

On Tuesday, the East Rochester Union Free School District Board of Education accepted Dr. Mark Linton's voluntary resignation effective July 31.

Linton joined the district in July of 2015.

Richard Stutzman will serve as interim superintendent of schools until the school board appoints a permanent replacement.

The East Rochester Union Free School District Board of Education has accepted the voluntary resignation of Dr. Mark Linton, superintendent of schools, effective July 31, 2019.

Richard Stutzman will serve as interim superintendent of schools until the Board of Education appoints a permanent superintendent.

The board expresses its appreciation to Dr. Linton for his four years with the district and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors. The Board of Education is confident the district's talented leadership team will help guide the district during this time of transition.
