ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Food and blankets may seem like basics that everyone has access to, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, some families have found themselves without even the basics.
Clay Harris began to see the needs, he knew that he could help, and many others in the community would join him.
And he was right. Community and business leaders, law enforcement, and everyday citizens created Uniting & Healing Through Hope of Monroe County.
It started by giving out hundreds of Thanksgiving meals, then dozens of blankets, and now Harris has a big project ahead of Easter.
His goal for the community food drive event is to provide food baskets, including ham and other typical Easter dinner dishes, to veterans and community members in need.
Visit unitingthroughhope.com or call (585) 789-1495 for a list of requested food items and drop-off locations. You can also make a $30 donation, which purchases one Easter food basket.
