ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem is a mammoth musical undertaking, and Bill Weinert and Karla Krogstad are the music directors taking it on.

They’ll present the 90-minute concert on Friday, March 6 at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre, along with over 300 musicians from different groups in our area.

Written in 1962, War Requiem has timeless themes of reconciliation and peace.

Groups performing in the concert include the Eastman-Rochester Chorus, Eastman Chorale, Eastman Philharmonia, Bach Children’s Chorus of Nazareth College, Genesee Valley Children’s Choir, and three Eastman alumni as soloists.

The concert is free and open to the public.
