HENRIETTA, N.Y. (WHEC) - It is a topic often discussed, and it may very well be something that never full gets resolved: Section V needs more officials across all sports.

"It's really critical that we gain as many new members as possible," says Bob Lockhart, the president of the Rochester Chapter of Football Officials. "Our attrition rate is on a negative decline, and we're rarely or unable to keep up our numbers, so bringing new members and getting them on board... it takes at least three years to get a new member proficient at officiating football at the varsity level."

Some first year officials also attended, such as Roy Brock.

"My son plays Pop Warner," he says, "So I was exposed to the sport, and then understanding that officials are needed and the impact on the kids and the community, so I decided to do it."
