Exclusive: News10NBC Governor’s Primary Race Poll

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – News10NBC and WNYT NewsChannel 13 in Albany, have teamed up with Survey USA, to get a gauge on the New York Primary race for governor.

Over the past week, Survey USA spoke to likely voters next Tuesday about their feelings on the candidates and what issues are influencing their decisions.

Let’s start with the candidates.

In the Democratic Primary, 1002 likely voters were sampled statewide, and Governor Kathy Hochul holds a sizeable lead over her opponents, leading Long Island Congressman Tom Suozzi by 36% and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams by 43% statewide.

On the Republican side, the race is much closer with more voters undecided (31%) than supporting any one candidate. Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin has a slight edge over former Trump White House Aide Andrew Giuliani, 25% to 23%. Businessman Harry Wilson is further behind at 13% with former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino at 8%.

Looking ahead to potential match-ups in November, Hochul has a lead of at least 20% against all potential GOP candidates, with Zeldin being closest, but all four candidates scoring within 4% of one another.
