ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — You could feel the heartbreak of a father who happens to be the chief of police in Greece as he talked about the arrest of a Hilton elementary school principal who is accused of sexually abusing several of his students.

A grand jury indicted Kirk Ashton, the principal of Northwood Elementary School, on 25 counts — seven counts of second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, 11 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

State police say the allegations were made on Friday, March 26, the last day before spring break. Just before that, authorities say the agency that deals with sexual abuse against children did a presentation at Ashton's school.

News10NBC's Lynette Adams spoke with Deb Rosen, the executive director of Bivona Child Advocacy Center, who shared how you can protect yourself and your children.
