Facebook responds to claims of bogus friend requests

Facebook users may have seen notices on your Facebook wall claiming bogus friend requests are coming from existing friends.

Facebook claims more accounts aren't being hacked and that messages of cloned attacks are spreading due to a viral chain letter.

A Facebook spokesperson tells News10NBC, "claiming to be another person on Facebook violates our Community Standards, and we have a dedicated team that’s tasked with helping to detect and block these kinds of scams." 

Facebook says this is not related to a breach announced last week affecting 50 million users.
