FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Fairport Central School District Board of Education approved a plan Tuesday night that will eventually result in the consolidation of two of its schools.
District officials will merge Minerva DeLand School and Fairport High School in five to seven years, according to a statement posted on the district's website.
Following the consolidation, Minerva DeLand is expected to be repurposed by the district or be used by third parties. The building currently holds the district's ninth grade.
The plan also calls for renovations to Fairport High School to accommodate grades 9 through 12.
