Leaders from the Workers' Center of Central New York held a press conference in Syracuse Tuesday morning.
They talked about the death of 14-month-old Owen and his mother Selena Hidalgo-Calderon. Selena's body was found at a farm in Sodus days after she and Owen disappeared.
Investigators say Selena's boyfriend Alberto Reyes admits to hiding the body but claims he's not the killer. Reyes has been charged with tampering with evidence. He is facing separate federal immigration charges.
"A horrible nightmare began for an immigrant family already going through hard times"

The organizer for the Workers' Center spoke about the moment the family learned about what happened.
"We all gathered here at the Center," Rebecca Fuentes said. "We printed pictures. We all had hopes that this was going to be a story of someone who just decided not to be in contact with their mother like a lot of people do. Unfortunately, on that same day when we were in Sodus doing the press conference, the mother, Estella, received the most horrible news a mother can take."
While the active search on the ground for Owen has been suspended, deputies say they'll stay at a staging area at the farm to follow any leads.
