IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHEC) -- News10NBC confirms the case involving a hit-and-run that killed a woman in Irondequoit is being presented to a grand jury.
Last November, police say 87-year-old Joan Dierna was hit on Bayview Road and left lying there.
Police say it appeared that Dierna was crossing the road to get the mail when she was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
Police released a photo of a commercial truck that was in the area around the time Dierna was hit. The driver of that truck came forward but after an interview, police determined he was not involved.
At one point in their investigation, Irondequoit Police took another truck in custody. That truck was tested for samples related to the hit-and-run. There is still no word on if that truck was involved.
Police have not released if they have any suspects in custody or what charges are being presented.
