FDA: Dog food company recalling 1600+ cases of food due to health concerns

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Dog owners check it out, a company is recalling some food you may be feeding your dog.

Tuffy’s Pet Foods are pulling back about 1,600 cases of its "Pure Vita salmon entree."

According to the Food and Drug Administration, the company is worried about elevated levels of vitamin D that can cause health problems for dogs.

WHAT’S BEING RECALLED?

Bags with the lot numbers: 0629101N1 and 0901101N1 with best-by dates of June 29, 2023, and Sep. 1, 2023 .

So far, no reports of sick dogs have come in. If you have this type of dog food, you can return it to the store for a refund.
