ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Fire Department says they have accounted for all but one of the exotic animals that were unaccounted for after a house fire on Kosciusko Street.
Firefighters say multiple snakes, geckos, a scorpion, a tarantula, and a ferret were in the house during the fire. All but the scorpion have been accounted for.
The cause is still under investigation but fire officials noted that the house used multiple heat lamps and lights for the various animals.
The Red Cross is providing temporary housing for the six people that lived in the house.
