ROCHESTER, NY. (WHEC) — As most of us continue to dig out from the deep snow it was nice to see the sunshine today.

It will be another very cold night as the temperature falls to close to 10 degrees for the early evening. However, a warm front will be passing across Western New York later tonight. That may produce a few snow flurries overnight with increasing clouds. But the biggest change will be the wind direction shifting to the southwest and the temperature beginning to climb overnight. The News10NBC First Alert meteorologists expect the mercury to rise into the 20s and eventually into the low 30s by Wednesday morning. As a result, tomorrow will be the warmest day of the week with temperature readings in the mid to upper 30s. We expect to see some of the snowpack to begin to melt and look for a few rain and wet snow showers developing by Wednesday afternoon.

Unfortunately, the warmth will not last. Another arctic boundary will move across the area later Wednesday and Wednesday night. Once again the temperature will be falling quickly into the teens Wednesday morning and the temperature will stay in the deep freeze for Thursday and Friday. If the clouds clear out Friday night there is a good chance the temperature will be going below zero by Saturday morning. There will be some lake snow showers and flurries for both days, but any accumulation will be small.

Our weather should begin to moderate by the weekend. Saturday will feature more sunshine and light winds with a high temperature reaching the middle 20s. Sunday may bring another round of flurries and snow showers by the afternoon with a temperature also in the mid-20s.

It appears another arctic front will be moving through Western New York on Sunday night and Monday. This will bring another shot of bitterly cold weather for early next week and another round of lake snow showers.
