ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — After a pretty cloudy and cool Saturday afternoon, the evening is going to be very similar. Temperatures will continue to drop into the low to mid-40s during the evening. Some rain showers will develop with the assistance of the northwest breeze over Lake Ontario. The chance for rain showers remains until the overnight hours. Temperatures will bottom out in the mid to upper 30s tonight.

The second half of the weekend is looking much more promising with a bit more sunshine and drier conditions. It will be a cool start to the day, so if you're taking the dog for a walk or going for an early morning run, you'll need an extra layer. The sunshine will help us warm into the mid to upper 50s across much of Rochester and the Finger Lakes.

As we look ahead to next week, temperatures will be at their warmest on Monday with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s with a good amount of sunshine to start the workweek. There could be a few showers, as a cold front approaches, for areas on Monday night for areas in the Southern Tier.

Tuesday is where the interesting weather pattern begins. A cold front is going to roll through the area but we are also expecting temperatures to fall on Tuesday. Much cooler air is headed our way for Wednesday and Thursday with the possibility of some lake-enhanced snow showers! Expect windy conditions from Wednesday to Saturday as well.
