Kevin Catalfamo found the ring with his metal detector.

The ring is from East Stroudsburg Teachers College north of Philadelphia. It was a ring from the class of 1953 with the initials "MMB."

It belonged to Mildred Burton of Philadelphia.

With our help and the help of a genealogist, we were able to discover that Mildred got married at a church in Chili.

She passed away years ago but News10NBC found her granddaughters, Lisa and Lindsay in New York City, and gave them the ring.

Now, the president of the college has invited Mildred's granddaughters to campus for a visit.

The college also shared the story of the returned ring on its website.
