Police say he possessed hundreds of images and videos of child porn on his laptop. Law enforcement was able to track him down after Yahoo! reported him for uploading five suspected child porn files to its server.

News10NBC found out that Ruth used to work for the Boy Scouts at Camp Babcock-Hovey in Ovid.

Ruth's defense will meet again on Friday and hope he will be released then.

"We don't feel that he poses a danger to sexually abuse the public. There have been no allegations that he has done so. These allegations all surround around pornography and not sexual contact or sexual touching," said Clark Zimmermann, Ruth's defense attorney.

Authorities don't believe anything happened at the camp, but are asking anyone with information on potential abuse to call 911.
