Former Canandaigua Fire Chief dies

A former Canandaigua Fire Chief has died.

According to the Canandaigua Police Chief Stephen Hedworth, Mark Marentette died on Wednesday. An investigation by Canandaigua Police has found no suspected foul play and his death is not considered suspicious.

Marentette had led the Canandaigua Fire Department from 2011 until April 2017, when he was fired for alleged insubordination. Marentette sued over the firing, but a U.S. District Court judge ruled against him in early January.
