A former Monroe Community College player says he feels "deep regret" for his actions on the basketball court.
Fitchburg State guard Kewan Platt was caught on camera elbowing Nick Tenaglia on Tuesday.
He released a statement on his personal Instagram account Thursday night apologizing.
Platt is from Boston but spent two years at MCC playing basketball from 2016 to 2018.
After the video went viral on Wednesday, Fitchburg State quickly suspended Platt indefinitely and barred him from campus pending the results of an internal review.
