Free program offered to help parents get more engaged with community

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Greater Rochester Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) is recruiting for its fall class.

The free, 20-week leadership training program for parents aims to teach them how to actively engage in civic life through advocacy and community involvement.


The program also gives participants the chance to gain the confidence and skills to better the lives of children in the community.

Dinner and childcare are provided throughout the program, and transportation can be arranged.

An informational session will take place Wednesday, July 24, from 5:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kate Gleason Auditorium of the Central Library, located at 115 South Ave. in Rochester.

Applications will be accepted through Aug. 2.
