ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Frontier Communications is addressing a report from Bloomberg News that it is seeking a March bankruptcy filing.
The report cited sources who say that Frontier's executives met with creditors and advisers ahead of a filing planned in the next two months.
News10NBC reached out to Frontier. In a statement, Vice President Javier Mendoza, Frontier Communications' Corporate Communications and External Affairs, said that Frontier's business and operations are solid.
"As we have said publicly, Frontier is evaluating its capital structure with an eye to reducing debt so as to be able to better serve our customers," Mendoza wrote. "Our customers should expect no changes as we remain focused on providing connectivity services without interruption to our residential customers, institutions and businesses. We are proud to continue to offer well-paying jobs and benefits that contribute to the economic health of the communities we serve."
