Sodus High School is also planning a balloon release for later this week. Taft was a senior at the high school.

Taft was found early Friday morning on Boyd Road at the home of her former boyfriend, 19-year-old David Knight-Hollis. Deputies say he stabbed Taft and cut her throat. He was charged with second degree murder and is due back in court on Wednesday.

Two separate GoFundMe accounts have been set up for Taft’s family – the Alyssa Kimberlee memorial fund and Alyssa Taft memorial.
