ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – A restaurant owner with ties to Rochester is taking the city’s best-known dish to Brooklyn.

Brian Heiss gives all due credit to Nick Tahou’s Garbage Plate in serving a ‘Trash Plate’ at Brooklyn Hots, which opens Wednesday. In speaking with Eater, Heiss says his twist is to substitute "high quality meat sourcing and fresh vegetables," except when hot dogs are requested, and then of course, he’ll use Zweigle’s.

So if you’re in NYC and feeling a little homesick, here’s where to go.
