ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Girl Scout cookie sales were way down this year and warehouses are being used to store the unsold cookies.

Louisville is one of two places in the country where girl scout cookies are made, and right now, that's where lots of boxes are being stored.

Normally Girl Scouts sell door to door, set up tables at shopping centers and moms and dads hawk the cookies at their workplaces.

With pandemic restrictions, most of the usual sales tactics couldn't happen this past year.

The Girl Scouts are hoping people donate online so the leftover cookies can be sent to food banks, first responders and other community groups.
