BRIGHTON, N.Y. (WHEC) -- It was open for 10 days and then abruptly closed. You asked Pat Taney why for this week's Good Question report.
If you drive down West Henrietta Road in Brighton, you'll see a nice, shiny new Tim Hortons restaurant.
The signs are up and the lights are on inside but the doors are always locked.
It's located at 2830 West Henrietta Rd. It was open for about 10 days back in December and then quickly closed without warning.
We asked town officials and pulled all of the paperwork. We can tell you all of the proper permits were issued and there's no problem on the town's end.
Those town officials, in fact, are just as confused as everyone else as to why it's not open.
So what happened?
We do know this is a franchise and is locally owned. For the past week, we've been trying to get answers.
The owners did not return phone calls.
The Tim Hortons Corporation also did not respond to numerous calls and emails.
An employee at another Tim Hortons owned by this local company told us the store is owned by Ninety Rock Management, which owns several other local Tim Hortons.
Ninety Rock's website lists the West Henrietta store as "Coming soon" but gives no opening date.
Everywhere we stopped and sources we spoke with familiar with this project, told us the hold up has to do with some sort of dispute between Ninety Rock and Tim Hortons' corporate offices.
As for the details surrounding that dispute?
Again, neither Ninety Rock nor Tim Hortons Corporate are commenting.
News10NBC will stay on top of this and provide updates as they become available.
In the meantime, if you have a question you'd like Pat to answer, send him an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
