Just when you lose faith in human behavior, it seems the good people of the Greece community have stepped forward to show they care. At least that's what happened for the family who owned the car vandalized with racial slurs this past weekend.

"I could not sit still and not do anything," stated Jill Stojkovic, Greece neighbor.

Jill Stojkovic's email was among about half a dozen others that came into News10NBC's newsroom of people wanting to help the family.

The young father of two, who owns the minivan, came home from vacation this past weekend to find racial slurs spray painted all over his car.

Stojkovic, among others, was troubled by it. She lives and attends Hope Community church, not even a mile from where the vandalism occurred. News10NBC asked Stojkovic if she was shocked by what had happened.

"I'm sorry to say, no. I'm sorry it doesn't. But it makes me want to do more. I want to pray about it, but I think prayer has to lead to action. You have to do something."

News10NBC also received emails saying, "I don't have a real answer but I'm very upset and disappointed."

Concerned citizen Ralph recommended using Easy Off oven cleaner, while a woman named Anna told us her husband is a body shop repairman who may be able to repair the car at no cost.

Stojkovic's email said she wanted to help him buy a new car. She launched a GoFundMe campaign in support.

"I'm a Christian and Jesus' love compels me to love my neighbor as myself. When he says love your neighbor as yourself, there's no exception clause there."

The owner tells News10NBC that Greece Police have identified persons of interest in connection with this case.
