GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — On Thursday, the Town of Greece held a public forum on its Comprehensive Plan Update.
It was the second of two public meetings on the 2019 Comprehensive Plan Update.
The team putting the plan together heard input from residents and answered questions.
The Comprehensive Plan Update is a long-term plan to help guide the town going forward, and address changes in the community and society as a whole.
Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich says there have been plenty.
"30 years ago the American dream for every young person was to get their own home right away and raise a family,” Reilich said. “Today a lot of folks are going forward with the understanding they're not going to have the same job for the rest of their lives so they may be a little more transient, may have to move, a lot of times they want to rent now."
Greece also has a sizable senior population that is downsizing earlier or choosing assisted living.
The plan will ideally address all of these factors, and be done by the end of February.
